okay, no waiting: ponge's visa was approved. he plans on being here by the end of the month (!)i went out and bought a variety pack of condoms (ribbed and not) and lubes from a woman's touch yesterday. i thought about buying a vibrator, too; but didnt have enough money.
so, his status is a lawful permanent resident. (LPR) what the fuck does that mean? essentially, he can work and pay taxes and travel so long as he doesnt leave the country more than 50% of the year, etc. he gets a green card which will expire in two years, his status as a LPR is conditional. we will have to file to get the conditional status removed. the immigration laws assume we married for immigration purposes, and we have to prove that we did not. that means keeping a file with photos of us, copies of leases we sign, mail for him at my same address, shit like that. the whole process is pretty interesting, even if frustrating and a pain in the ass.
