the fourth of july. independence day. so what did we do? guerilla theater at all the public picnics and fireworks areas we had the time and energy to hit up, naturally. we were the top news story of the ten o clock news for cbs or whatever channel 27 is here. oh wait, internet says its abc. they were at the last park we hit up.
so the storyline is like this:
liberty and the first amendment (right to free speech etc) fourth amendment (search limits etc) and fifth amendment (due process - charges, lawyers etc) are happily skipping about; when bush comes on the scene and unleashes the patriot act. he charges up some citizens to act as his goons and violate all the amendments, and then trap liberty in chains and bring her down. then the amendments start getting together and chanting "we the people" while they break free of their various bondages. one by one they get Bush's goons to join them as normal people. They kick Bush out, free Liberty, and everyone is happy. Meanwhile we've distributed literature on how Patriot One violates our Constitution, and how Patriot Two is even more fucked up, should it pass. AND IT SHOULDNT!

The play stars giant backpack puppets as Bush and Liberty; Amendments One, Four, and Five as people wearing placards and other props; Goon One, Two, and Three are people dressed in black, wearing sunglasses and using Giant Eyes as creepy props. There is an ad-hoc band of Player One on bucket and stick, Player Two on trombone and Player Three (thats me!) on didgeri-doo (the one i used is made of PVC piping), kazoo, and tambourine.
then i watched bowling for colombine afterwards. nice depressing film. charles hesten is an asshole.
